Let's see.. I last posted on 9th March. So what has happened since then? *rubs chin thoughtfully* Actually, not much leh. My life's pretty ordinary and boring. But I like it this way! (:
Yesterday we went to VCH for band adjudication. A.K.A Fake SYF.
We wore our nice band uniform, but it turns out we were kinda over-dressed this time. Almost all the other bands wore school uniform!! But that was alright with me. It's quite nice to look professional, even if it is pretty darn hot.
Seriously speaking, I thought I was quite okay. I didn't mess up too badly. I admit, however, that I forgot to look at Ms Sia at some parts. Shameful, I know. But I don't think I sucked, for once, you see, which is quite an accomplishment. But I think the reason for my sudden confidence is the fact that we didn't have to play Sunrise! Which relieved me greatly.
I dunno. I wasn't there when it happened, but they say Ms Sia said that we would get, at most, a Bronze for our performance. She was plenty pissed. ))):
Today for band, they kept their instruments at around 11. We thought there would be PT, but instead, the leaders made us run up the stairs and around the third floor before entering the Computer Lab.
We were told to take out our reflections. I honestly, truly didn't know that we were told to do individual reflections, just like the entire Percussion section, so we all didn't have reflections. ): You could tell Ci Hui was pretty peeved.
The leaders talked to us for quite a long time, about EVERYTHING. And they showed us a video of Cedarband during its glorious days in 1996, as the best band ever.
And you know what? I've been motivated. Everybody really wants to get Gold this year, or maybe Gold with Honours, but yeah, the leaders were right, it's not like all of us are doing anythin to achieve our common goal, so.. Very sad lah. Anyway, I was so motivated that I brought my sticks home to practise! I really want to get to play for SYF, and I am NOT letting Ms Sia kick me out. And I also want the Gold. If we get it, I'm seriously gonna scream and jump around. But for now, I need to practise! I really can't bear to think of the consequences of getting a Silver again. Really. I don't even want to think about what will happen.
But, like, the leaders said, THERE'S STILL TIME.
We can still get Gold if we practise hard enough.
I love band and Perc so, so much, I don't know what I'd do if we didn't get Gold.
