School's OUT!
Saturday, May 26, 2007 @ 7:57 AM
FYI, this post was begun on the 25th of May and completed today. So there'll be some weird, not up-to-date matters mentioned. . . . . . Two words: SCHOOL'S OUT! And in the words of Arina, "But homework's in. ): "
But that's alright! Alright, people who have known me long enough will know that I say this line every year --> "This year will be different. This year, I won't procrastinate and I'll finish my homework quickly so that I can slack after that!" But this year, I GUARANTEE you that I WILL finish my homework ASAP. For many, many reasons. For one thing, I've got to complete my IPW project, and secondly, I've got to get my CIP hours by volunteering at our chosen organisation as well as at the library. And thirdly, I have five tests to sit for once school reopens. So yep, this year's June will be different, if I may say so myself.
But all work and no play is bo-oring, so I'm gonna watch Spiderman 3 tomorrow! Like, FINALLY. After waiting for ages, I'm finally gonna watch it. I'm watching Shrek 3 with my class, though.
I like this new Blogger thing where your posts are saved as drafts immediately after you stop typing. This way, I won't constantly have to worry whenever my cousin wants to use the computer during MY computer time. She tends to get itchy fingers and will then proceed to close all of my windows. Anyway, back to the topic of school. The fact that it's out, I mean. :DDDDDDDDDD Ooh, I feel this sudden urge to start writing one of my fanfic ideas! Pat's gone for camp already. :( Yes, both Jac and Pat have conveniently left me stranded here.
And I miss band. We don't have any band practices at all in June, save for one single practice on Thursday, I think. The last Thursday before school reopens. And then we'll have band as per normal. I'll definitely have to practise my strokes if I don't wanna lose out. Or else my strokes will start getting less even.
I shall blog about yesterday, 25th of May, the worst day of my life ever. *clears throat*
25th of May. It was a normal school day. Well, actually, it wasn't, because it was the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! I woke up first thing in the morning. Everything was absolutely fine and dandy, like any normal last day should be. But then, during Malay lesson, Fate striked.
Scene 1: Malay presentation. Two words. But two words that took no time in making my heart beat faster, nonetheless. Anyway, my spoken Malay sucked. So I sounded horrible. And then guilt came creeping into my already frozen heart! Because if it was a group mark, then I would be dead guilty for the rest of my life for pulling down the grade.
Okay, writing in composition format is tiring. Plus I don't have the time for it. So I'll just write out the list of 25 things that happened to Sherilyn and I on the 25th of May:
For Home Economics, I forgot to bring my Homec stuff, and Sherilyn's wasn't returned to her after she lent it to her friend. So that was the first disaster.
I sucked at my Malay presentation thingy. Okay, if you're reading this, Amirah, Damia and Deryn, SORRY!This is the largest font I can use.
Sorting out the missing English storybooks took ages, and up till now, we still don't know who took the books.
After school, I had no food to eat in the canteen as the only two stalls I could eat from were both ALREADY CLOSED. So yes. I didn't eat lunch.
After our non-existent lunch, we embarassed ourselves by giving the chacha form thingy to Mrs Choo, when in fact there was a box in the General Office waiting for us to dump the forms in.
I left my completed Maths graph homework at home, and so had to re-do it in school. And Sherilyn hadn't finished her Chinese homework, so if anyone looked into the 2/0 classroom on Friday after school, they'd see these two girls either poring over their homework or slacking away. Yes. We slacked. *ashamed face* Even though we had an ORGANISATION to get to.
Then we went down to the foyer, but had to go back up again because we forgot to put some stuff into Sherilyn's locker. Waste of energy!
And then we walked all the way out of school FOR NOTHING.
We called Transcab and got through after a really long wait, but they said they only knew how to pick us up from school. So we were forced to walk all the way back again. Hence the number 7 up there. Because we should have just stayed in school. But then they told us that there were NO TAXIS AVAILABLE. At that point, I just felt like cursing. But I don't curse. Not even on my blog. So. I merely restrained from screaming.
So. We put in all that effort to walk back to school. And it was a really hot day.
And then we called another taxi company. But after calling Jie Shi, who told us that she could fetch us, we tried to hide from the taxi which was already on its way.
The cab soon came. Sherilyn felt really guilty cos she had to tell him that we didn't want the cab anymore.
Then we realised, after some enlightenment on the taxi driver's part, that we could just have called the taxi company and cancelled the booking via the phone. How silly, right? And all that hiding.
SHF WAS CLOSED. We found that out after we, err, persuaded Jie Shi to call them for us. Oh, and at this point of time, I'd gotten so super frustrated that I squatted on the grass outside of school and bent my head over. But I had to get up cos Sher forced me to. Darn.
Sadly, Jie Shi was unable to send us by car to Bishan Library. Yes, you see, we'd already planned to go, and now that the day had gone horribly, we didn't want to give up on our only hope: books!
After arriving in Bishan, we decided that we were hungry. So we went in and out of 7 Eleven thrice due to our indecisiveness. I think that cashier guy must have been really amused.
Sher bought cup noodles but we found that we both were unable to dispense the hot water. We soon felt dumb, however, after I went to the counter and told the guy about our.. difficulties. After finally managing to get the hot water out, though, Sher dropped her chopsticks. And I had to go to the counter AGAIN, but this time to ask for a new pair of chopsticks.
We had to find a place to eat, right? So we sat down at Bishan bus interchange and ate, therefore giving off the impression that we were beggars in school uniform.
After taking a couple of bites into my sandwich, I realised that it tasted horrible. That was Sherilyn's fault cos she told me the sandwiches were nice. Because she thought they looked nice. So I say, don't judge a sandwich by its looks.
I couldn't find ANY of the books I wanted in Bishan library. Which I felt really stupid for cos I made a fuss with Sherilyn about Bishan library being the only one I knew had my books when she tried to persuade me to go to a library nearer to home, seeing as it was already so late.
And since it was the 25th of May, we were frustrated to find out that the loan quota only doubles on 26th of May, the VERY NEXT DAY. Yeah. Do you know? That you can borrow twice the normal amount during June hols. This kind of news never fails to, uhh, delight people like Jac, but she's not back yet, so.. :(
We had to find an ATM machine where I could withdraw money from. Seeing as we'd already suffered enough, not having enough money to pay for the taxi ride home would fit in just nicely on this list of 25 things. So we couldn't take a chance and searched everywhere for an ATM. And, upon seeing an ATM AHEAD sign, we brisk-walked (it IS Junction 8, so we don't wanna attract more attention than necessary) ahead, and found not an ATM machine, but instead, a construction site. Yep. We actually walked out of Junction 8. GAH. The stupid sign was wrong!! And it was a trick, too! Both sides of the sign said "ATM Ahead"! So then where was the ATM? In the middle of the sign????
We went up the escalator and then went down again after, say... a couple of seconds? So naturally, we looked like we were playing a fool.
After withdrawing money, we walked out to get a taxi. But then we were rather impatient (okay, I was rather impatient) and tried to cheat by hailing for a taxi quite far off from the taxi stand. Unfortunately, it didn't work, as all taxis were stopping AT the taxi stand, nor before it.
So, tada! We were standing in the queue. But even then, we still managed to feel stupid because as we were in the queue, we spotted an ATM machine opposite, staring at us.
And that was the end of our silly, unlucky day. I suffered SOME MORE after I got home, so I cracked, but I don't know about Sherilyn.
But anyway, when we were standing in the taxi queue, we decided to make a worst-case scenario list to pass the time. Here it is! Oh, there are different scenarios for both of us (Sher and me), hence the slash.
Worst Day EVER (thought up by US!):
1. Bad hair day! :((( 2. It was raining, and you forgot to bring your umbrella, so you were drenched to the bone. 3. Late for school, due to the lack of umbrella. AND you didn't eat breakfast because you woke up late. 4. You got booked because you had no valid reason, because it was raining in your home area, but it wasn't in the school's area. 5. You had no storybook to read in the morning since you were late for school, forgot to bring it, and couldn't borrow. Which brings you back to square 1: because you were late. 6. Your dear friends ask you if you've done your homework, which you know you haven't completed. 7. Because you slept late the night before, you were extremely exhausted and fell asleep during Geography lesson. 8. Mrs Franklin scolds you. 9. The entire class is mad at you because she her scolding consists of never-ending nagging. 10. You have jogging (that's ALWAYS a bad thing) 11. Your class is the last class to be dismissed, even though you guys are the first few to go for jogging. 12. Mr chan asks you to buy watermelon juice for him [private joke btween us(: ] 13. You had to stay in class during recess to complete your undone homework. Therefore, you couldn't go down to the canteen and eat with your friends. 14. Malay/Chinese presentation. Badly presented. :( 15. You broke a test tube during Science lab lesson. 16. Sorting out the allocation of English storybooks took ages. 17. You forgot to bring your band tee! 18. You didn't have any food to eat as all your stalls were closed because you came down for lunch so late. 19. Part is taken away/you're sent out of the bandroom. 20. Ms Sia scolded you. Sigh.. 21. You're given your June band schedule and realise that you have to come back to school for band 18 times during the June holidays. 22. Angeline/Celeste deserted you, as they had rides home after band, so you had to go home alone. 23. Since you still didn't have your umbrella and didn't have anyone to borrow one from, you got soaked AGAIN as it was raining cats and dogs. 24. You fell down and broke your leg in the rain. 25. After limping and finally arriving at the busstop, you board your bus. And guess what? Your bus broke down. Man, you're really unlucky... 26. You reach home at 9 plus and are scolded by your mum. She grounds because she doesn't believe the events that have befallen you that have delayed your arrival. 27. You have no water to shower as the water supply has been cut off. 28. You have no food to eat again. Your mum tells you that you can't have dinner because you got home so late. 29. You decide to go brush your teeth, but find that your toothbrush has already found a companion for the night, and it's not your teeth. It's.... a cockroach. 30. You watch a horror movie, thinking it'll help you get your mind off your horrid day. Instead, you get nightmares later on when you sleep. 31. You wet your bed due to the nightmares. 32. Then, you are forced to clean up the dirty bedsheets yourself as your mum refuses to do so, because she's too tired. 33. You go to the bathroom to wash your hands, but find that the water supply has been cut off AGAIN, so you are forced to sleep with soapy, urinated hands. 34. You wake up screaming because you smell of soap and urine.
Poor girl. I wouldn't wanna be in her position. So anyway, those were our lists. :DD We're so evil, we deprived the poor girl of her breakfast, lunch AND dinner.
Okay, as I was typing all of these lists, my DEAR cousin was heating up some mini-pizzas in the microwave. But guess what? She accidentally switched off the computer switch while I was typing. And then she switched it on again. And she microwaved yet another mini-pizza. And she SWITCHED OFF THE COMPUTER SWITCH
Felt like murdering her. But obviously I couldn't. That chopper in the kitchen is really tempting...
Speaking of murder, I had a nightmare this morning. There was someone trying to murder me again. And in my dream, I was a guy. And even though I was protected by a few TROOPS, my attacker managed to get past all the troops and it came down to a face-off! The weird thing was, in my dream, I could think for myself. As in, me, Sya. I was thinking in my head that I didn't want to die and was trying to think of a way to get out of the sticky situation when I realised that I could simply WAKE UP. Uhhuh. So that's exactly what I did, before my attacker could get to me. I think I'm a rather boring person. Don't you?
