We sign our cards and letters BFF. You've got a million ways to make me laugh. You're looking out for me, You've got my back.
It's 11 in the morning, and I've already bathed, eaten breakfast, watched a few television programmes and had my fair share of slacking (but then again, I always exceed the slacking limit.). Why am I telling you all this, you ask? Because I am extremely, acutely, awfully, drastically, exceedingly, exceptionally, excessively, exorbitantly, extraordinarily, highly, hugely, immensely, immoderately, inordinately, intensely, markedly, mortally, notably, overly, prohibitively, quite, radically, remarkably, severely, strikingly, surpassingly, terribly, terrifically, too, unduly, unusually, utterly, very and violently bored.
I've been going out a lot these past few days, so it isn't very safe for me to ask my mum for permission to go out again. Let's see, where have I been?
On Tuesday the 27th, I went to the Omni-Theatre to watch Dinosaurs (40 min show) with Jac, Zb, Hongy and Pris. :D The theatre is this huge, dome-shaped hall in which the chairs are designed for you to lean back, relax, and enjoy the show.So the movie looks 3-D, and you feel like you're really there. Unfortunately, the show was rather... disappointing. It wasn't very entertaining, and I know Jac kept asking, "Where's the T-rex??" Haha. Yes. We walked around the Science Center after. Ah, the good times. Remember when we were in primary school and we were so easily amused by everything going on in the Science Center? *stops to reminisce* They've changed a lot of stuff there, though. We couldn't find the mirror maze. )))))): But just being there with fellow ex 6.1-ians and having a great time was enough for me. So I conclude that I HAD A BLAST. Oh yes, don't forget to thank Jac, cos she had free tickets to the Dinosaurs show, and she's the one who organised it. All hail Jac! (I think I can hear her head being pumped.) XD
After we got home, I slacked I had some much-needed rest before Jac came over to discuss the fanfic. :D
Monday the 26th, I walked at Bedok Reservoir with Jac and Pat in the morning. Later in the morning, I was supposed to go to Bishan library with Amirah so we could do our homework together, but there was some confusion on the time, so we went around afternoon to Tampines library instead. She bought donuts! :D Yummy. But to tell you the truth, we didn't get any work done! HAHAHA. We were too engrossed in talking. Plus she met her ex-classmates in McDonalds. (: Then, as per normal, Jac and I played badminton at 5. :DDD Oh look, triple chins!
I'm only 14, and already my memory's failing me. I can't remember what I did on Sunday the 25th. On the 24th, a Saturday, I went to my cousin's friend's wedding. She (the bride, I mean) was gorgeous! :D Guess what I wore to the wedding?
You know the secrets I could never tell, And when I'm quiet you break through my shell. Don't feel the need to do a rebel yell, Cause you keep my feet on the ground.
I went for COALs camp from the 21st to 23rd. Like I said, IT. ROCKED. I love abseiling, oh yes, I really do! :DDD And I do believe zipline is fun, I do, I do! Camp was F-U-N fun while it lasted, and I actually wouldn't mind going for it again (I have to go for Sec 3 camp next year, anyway). Even though we got scolded and never had time to take a proper shower. But the instructors were funny and nice and entertaining and harsh at times and fun to be with and caring and strict at appropriate times and they had such infectious energy during the campfire! I'll miss them. I was really touched by what some of the instructors did for us. They've been through a lot for us, they really have. And for that, I have to say that the instructors '07 rock!
On the 21st, groups Delta, Echo and Falcon had Low Elements, Rockwall, Abseiling and Zipline. We had to mingle around and form new groups. I think I really liked my group, which consisted of Si Min, Jie Shi, Eunice, Natalie, Wendelyn, Evelyn, Anusha, May and Deryn. If I forgot anyone, my apologies! But each and every one of them left an impact on me, so please, feel free to feel honoured.
Food was alright, I guess. Mostly I traded the vegetables with my Delta mates. I don't mind beansprouts and carrots, and I love spinach, but I just can't eat veggies like celery, cabbage, lettuce, etc.
On the 22nd, we had outdoor cooking in the morning, after which we had sea activity. We were to build a raft to hold 7 people using 6 pipes and 4 barrels. With the help of our instructors, some Camelot instructors, and teachers, we constructed our raft and binded it with rope, lots of rope. It took us AGES, but we finally made it, and not only was our raft able to function, it was also able to sustain throughtout all our trips into the sea! *does a victory dance* Then, we had High Elements and Wilderness activity. My group was split up, and the few of us had some theory/practical test thingy. We did Orienteering (with Instructor Bernice) first, and I totally couldn't remember a thing from BTC. I like orienteering (it's somewhat like Geography), I do! It's just that my memory was rather foggy. You're given a question, and you've got to solve it by applying your skills (which I lacked). After orienteering, we had First Aid, which was conducted by Instructor Sheng Ling and Instructor Ai Jia. 3 of us had to act out a scene, in which we were victims of certain injuries, such as a snake bite, bruises and hyperventilation, and the other 3 had to figure out what it was we were suffering from and treat us. I was the one with the bruises. After our little 'skit', we sat down around the two of them while they tested us on first aid theory. Then we headed for our campcraft station, during which we had to find a way to cook an egg in this metal thingy using solid fuel to start the fire. Pretty cool.
Okay, then we had High Elements, during which we had to mingle with other groups, so after that, my group consisted of Jie Shi, Eunice, Sherilyn Tan, Shu Yi and me. HE was really, really scary, but fun. Our first station was called 'Multi-Vine.' Basically it's like tightrope-walking, but you do it sideways, and you've four pieces of rope hanging above you (widely spaced, to challenge us) to guide you. It was alright, but it was rather high, and I'm not a fan of falling.
Next, we had Wild Woozy! This was by far the scariest. It's like tightrope-walking again, but there aren't any ropes hanging above you to guide you. You'll have to hold on to a partner, who'll stand across from you. You have to hold each other's shoulders while you walk across the rope sideways. And the scariest part is when the two ropes you're both walking on slowly start getting further and further away from you, so the two of you are further apart and then soon you'll have to hold on to each other's elbows. Yep. I did this one with Shu Yi. We fell down the minute we got onto the ropes, but we tried again after that and were SUCCESSFUL! Whee. (I know this is really boring you, but I'm obligated to just continue with the rest of what happened on the 22nd, now that I've started.) I can't remember what the next station is called, but what you have to do is climb up this trunk and jump off the top of it to try and reach this sort of swing from the top. You know, like the ones people in circuses use to swing to and fro from? Yup. They say that the point of this station is to test on whether or not you're courageous enough to jump off (it's pretty high), not to grab the swing. People don't usually reach it, anyway.
We had our shower after this, so we changed into our COALs T-shirts. Oh, and I found a bra hanging in the shower I went into. HAHA. Sorry, TMI. Then we had our CAMPFIRE! I love it when they start the fire! It's hard to explain, but there's this line from the top of the opposite building, where they hang some sort of box from the top of the line. So the line is diagonally cutting across the sky. Then they light the box on fire and it'll zoom down to the campfire, thus starting the campfire! :DDDDDDDD And, of course, we sang songs, we watched the performances, we played games, we did dances, we did Billy Banja, we laughed, we were high, and most importantly, we had FUN.
On the 23rd, because breakfast wasn't ready yet, we carried out our Big Sweep first. No, it was NOT a lottery, unfortunately. ): It was, literally, a Big Sweep. You know, cleaning the campsite? Yep. The name of the activity is rather misleading. Sigh. Anyway, after breakfast, we set off towards our new school site, at Geylang Bahru, where we had our debrief. We were not to be let off so easily. Which is why I have a 2-page reflection essay to be done right after this post. Woohoo.
This marks the end of my camp talk. Now I shall proceed to rant about the new school site. I. HATE. IT. I hate the environment nearby. I really, really hate it. I don't mind the HDB buildings, but I loved the old environment, which was kind of isolated, surrounded by private houses. But the new site has some buildings around it which I find undesirable. SIGH. Sherilyn and I tried looking for the bandroom after we were dismissed, but guess what? It was so elusive that we couldn't find it.
I found out later that the bandroom would be next to the canteen, UNDERGROUND. Yes, underground!
It sucks. It sucks even more that I'm a Sec 2, and therefore will not be able to enjoy the new facilities when they're completed, and that we Sec 2s will have to spend our Sec 4 year in a site which to me holds no memories, no good times, no meaning. None at all. I hope they install air-conditioner in the hall. I hate the fact that we're supposed to have our assemblys, our prom (if we even have one, that is. I heard that our year might not have one. *rolls eyes* ), our O Levels, everything. In this hall. Splendid. Wonderful. Yes, I'll love this school, alright.
Fortunately, my love for Cedar never waivers, so hopefully it'll get me through the dark, dark years. Hmm. Who turned off the lights? On a less pissed off and happier note, I was listening to Teenagers by MCR and I realised that they used a vibraslap (I think that's what it's called) in it! It makes this "brrr" sound. HAHA. Hard to explain, so just go listen to the song.
Speaking of MCR.. I asked my mum a few days ago if I could go to their concert. The answer, predictably, was a no. I tried every method of pleading and bargaining I knew, but it seems I still need to hone said skills, because she still wouldn't budge. I thought I wouldn't be able to go because she didn't approve of concerts, but no, it was because of the price. $85 for a ticket. ): I can pay for myself, but she isn't happy with the fact that it's so expensive. I already told her that it was already cheap, considering the fact that most concerts' tickets are priced around $100-200 or so. But what's done is done, and Zb's already booked the tickets, so there's aboslutely no hope of me going.
You're a true friend, You're here till the end. I went to Pasir Ris Park on Tuesday, 20th, with Jac and Zb. We went cycling! I still remember how to, surprisingly. :D Had a blast!
True friends will go to the ends of the earth Till they find the things you need. Friends hang on through the ups and the downs Cause they've got someone to believe in.
Song: True Friend by Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana.
That's all, folks!
I'm having the time of my life, and I really couldn't ask for more. I love you, I love you, I love you! You've been there for me, you really have. You made me smile, you made me laugh, you made me forget all my troubles. So for that, I thank you.
